Saturday Nov 1st and Sunday Nov 2nd

Join us in Penryn, Cornwall for an inspiring weekend focused on the cultural and artistic implications of how food is produced and consumed.

Lean Times is programmed around meals to stimulate consideration of the politics and provenance of what we eat within the context of instability and fluctuations in food production; the need of food banks and the distance between growers and consumers. Presentations and events between meals will prompt debate around the aesthetics of food and the social and technological implications of its production and representation.

Participants include food technologists, artists, activists, growers and cooks.

Lean Times is an ISA (Independent School of Art) Assembly

In keeping with the ISA (Independent School of Art) ethos of promoting free and shared access to knowledge and skills Lean Times is a free event. Entry to each day is by ticket with a contribution of food for the Lean Times table.Register for your ticket here.
